Amor Vincit Omnia

The Latin-titled experimental dance duo Amor Vincit Omnia haven't been kicking around for long. Their recently released EP brb babe mixes elements of hip-hop, house and Italian dance music, resulting in an eclectic collection of party-appropriate tunes to pick out the next time you get handed the aux. The band members are Erla Hlín and Baldur Skúlason.

about the project

The creation of the songs on their album Brb babe took anywhere from one hour to half a year.The website has interactive graphics for every song and there you can press a key on the keyboard to see photos that where taken on a old camera which shows the aesthetic of the band.The user can also controls colors, fonts, and the overall atmosphere using the keyboard. Three typefaces appear in the work: Pixel, a font I created which is also used on the Brb babe album cover; Arial, chosen because the band used it to write down the album's lyrics; and Velvelyne, selected for its playful character. In addition to these elements, a webcam is used to enable real-time interaction with the piece.

Amor Vincit Omnia

Amor Vincit Omnia is an Icelandic band formed in 2023. The band's name, meaning "Love Conquers All" in Latin, reflects their optimistic approach to music and art.

The band is known for their eclectic sound, blending electronic elements with traditional instruments to create an immersive audio-visual experience. Their songs like "Lounge Music," "Do You," "Eina," "100.000 km/klst," and their self-titled track showcase their versatility.

What makes Amor Vincit Omnia unique is their approach to live performances, where they incorporate visual elements and encourage audience interaction, just like in this VJ experience.
